Notice of Variable Rate Pricing Ordinance
Caretakers and Trash Haulers who deliver solid waste to the Londonderry Transfer Station,
please take note:
On December 15, 2014, the Town of Londonderry Selectboard, by virtue of the authority granted in 24 V.S.A. § 1971 (Title 24, Chapter 59, Section 1971), and 24 V.S.A. § 2202a (a) (Title 24, Chapter 61, Subchapter 8, Section 2202a) and as required by 24 V.S.A. § 2202a (d) of Act 148, Vermont’s Universal Recycling law, which requires municipalities to implement a variable rate pricing for all commercial haulers (including caretakers), adopted a Variable Rate Pricing Solid Waste Ordinance. The ordinance takes affect after the 60 day posting period, on February 13, 2015.
The ordinance requires that all haulers establish unit based charges (by volume or weight) to customers they collect from. In addition, the ordinance requires that haulers who do not deliver trash to the Londonderry Transfer Station make quarterly reports to the Londonderry Recycling Coordinator of volume or weight of MSW collected. Registration is required each year for any hauler/caretaker that collects or transports Solid Waste generated within the town of Londonderry.
The complete ordinance can be viewed here Variable Rate Pricing Ordinance , or at the Londonderry Town Office at 100 Old School Street, South Londonderry during normal business hours.
